There are two types of wolves: Gray Wolves (right) and Red Wolves (left.) The scientific name for the Gray Wolf is Canis lupus while the Red Wolf's name is Canis rufus. The Gray wolf is bigger than the Red wolf while the Red wolf also has a redder color. There is an argument about the Ethiopian/ Abyssinian Wolf and whether it is a true wolf or a jackal. The scientific name of this wolf is Canis Simensis.
